Marine plastic is collected, cleaned and shaved into flakes. It is then heated into pellets and those pellets are spun into a yarn. This yarn is 100% recycled marine plastic which is called SEAQUAL YARN.
This thread is then spun with organic cotton to make the upper of the Malibu sneaker.
The footbed lining is made from 91% recycled foam and then organic cotton is placed on top. The laces are a mix of the SEAQUAL YARN and organic cotton.
The sole is a RECYKERS FLUID sole, which is an ultra-soft flexible sole unit made from recycled plastic bottles.
RECYKERS are certified VEGAN by PETA, as no glue is used in the construction of the shoe.
The sole is heat moulded to the upper and then stitched.
The Malibu washed canvas sneaker feature a washed-out orange canvas upper and lining and are set on flexible rubber soles and orthotic-friedly foam insoles.
